The Scales Are Not The Only Way To Measure Progress
The scales cannot show ALL your progress. Sometimes while we are doing the wrong thing we are also in other areas doing the right thing. For example, If you drank more water today but still have a daily chocolate habit, the scales won't show that you're drinking more water. If you used to be really pessimistic about your ability to lose weight and today you've got a sudden burst of positive self-belief, the scales won't show this change in mindset. So notice, and take note of (perhaps in a journal) the many areas where you're making positive changes towards a healthier, fitter you.

Extracts From The Book Skinny Bitch
From time to time I like to share great stuff I've found on the net and this book is my latest find:
Skinny Bitch - Not your typical boring diet book, this is a tart-tongued, no-holds-barred wakeup call to all women who want to be thin. With such blunt advice as, “Soda is liquid Satan” and “You are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin,” it’s a rallying cry for all savvy women to start eating healthy and looking radiant. Unlike standard diet books, it actually makes the reader laugh out loud with its truthful, smart-mouthed revelations. Behind all the attitude, however, there’s solid guidance. Skinny Bitch espouses a healthful lifestyle that promotes whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, and encourages women to get excited about feeling “clean and pure and energized.”

I'm Still Here
I thought it might be a good idea to mention that I will be posting new pictures less frequently than I used to. In the past I tried to put a new picture up on this blog every single day but after a year and over 700 posts it has become a little more difficult to find new ideas on a daily basis. I want to only post pictures when I have a good idea; I don’t want to put up any old graphic just for the sake of daily continuity. So if you have not seen a new post on here for several days, don’t think I’ve disappeared, just know that I will put something up as soon as I have a good idea for a new picture.

Just Do It
Just do it...because it may suck not being able to eat your favorite foods as much as you used to, but it sucks even more to live in a body you hate.

It Won't Be Easy
The truth is weight loss is difficult...but you can do difficult. You've done difficult many times in your life; from the time you learned to walk, talk, read and write to all the many times you overcame setbacks and adversity as an adult. You can do it again...you WILL do it again if you believe you can, and if you WORK HARD to achieve your goal.

Office Fitness Dual Purpose Walking Treadmill
I bought this treadmill from Amazon and it arrived today, whoppeeeee!!! It has to be one of the best purchases I've ever made. It's cheaper than an ordinary treadmill at £150 (British Pounds) and I am literally walking on it now as I type this text. It is designed just for walking and reaches a top speed of 4 miles per hour. I rarely write reviews on Amazon but as soon as I have finished writing this post I'll go over to Amazon to write a glowing review.
I spend a lot of time (most of my waking hours) on the computer because I work from home and in the last year I've noticed the detrimental affects of a sedentary lifestyle on my back and on my weight. I knew that if I could combine work with exercise I'd be onto a winner....and this nifty product is the key to my new non-sedentary lifestyle.
If you want to be more active while spending a lot of time on your computer or sitting down I'd highly recommend that you buy this product.
Here is the link on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Office-Fitness-Purpose-Walking-Treadmill/dp/B0094WTGAK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1354222029&sr=8-3
Product Description
The Office Fitness Walking Treadmill offers a dual role at home or in the office. In it's traditional setting, designed to be used with handrail for a steady and effective indoor walking workout using the smooth, efficient and quiet 500w electric motor that offers a marked contrast to cheaper non-motorised models. In an office setting, treadmill usage as seen as increasingly effective alternative to being sedentary when combined with either a standing desk ( see Office Fitness Sit-Stand Electric Desk) or Laptop Stand. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-19910888
Walking rather than prolonged sitting offers significant health benefits; considerable weight loss ( 200kCals/hr at 4mph), disease prevention, cardiovascular improvements. Studies show that walking can increase blood flow to the brain, helping improve your memory by as much as 15 percent in a six-month period. At the same time, walking on a treadmill promotes healthy restorative sleep patterns, which in turn decreases your stress levels.
Multi-function display ( Speed, Time, Distance and Calories Burned). The Office Fitness Dual mode is a purpose buit walking treadmill ( not a running machine), maximum speed 4mph which equates to a brisk walk requiring full arm swing. As with all Office Fitness products comes with one year warranty

Your Imagination Is Powerful
Visualize how you will look and feel when you have lost all the extra weight. Choose an outfit that you would like to wear but is now too small and hang it somewhere in your home where you will see it frequently. Each time you look at that item tell yourself, "I can see myself wearing that and I can see it fitting perfectly". As you say those words imagine that this is the truth - imagine this item of clothing fitting you perfectly. Do this regularly. Your mind plays a BIG part in your weight loss. What you think about and what you say to yourself about your ability to lose weight will have an effect on your motivation....so think and believe you can do it, and you're half way there.

Difficult Does Not Mean The Same As Impossible
I was watching Arthur's story again today on YouTube and it inspired my words for today's picture. I created a post on him a few month's ago because his story is so inspirational. It's a great reminder that 'difficult' does not have to mean the same as 'impossible'.

So many of my posts are about persistence, perseverance and never giving up because I believe if you keep trying, despite the obstacles, setbacks, binges, zero workout days, etc, you will improve, you will find new solutions to old problems....slow progress is better than no progress...so just keep trying.

Keep On Trying
Never give up until you've given out all your very best. It's better to fail trying than wondering what could have happened if you tried.
Although in the past I've created some of my own original drawings for this blog, for the sake of speed most times I usually made do with stock images found on the net. It’s become more difficult to find free stock fitness images online so I've recently decided to create many more of my own drawings and graphics....I hope you like today’s drawing.
